Cake-tober

As usual, October is one of--if not the--busiest month of the year for me in the bakement.  Here is some of what I have to show for it.

Lots of ivory and lace...

Interestingly this was my only Fall themed cake of the year made with gumpaste leaves, acorns and twigs:
This design has been very popular this Fall!

I've done lots of UNC themed cakes, and this was my first Ram head.  I was extremely nervous about how in the world I was going to create it, and after many, many hours spent on it, I was pleased with the outcome.  Go heels!
My first doll cake here.  Monster High is new to me, and even though the characters are a little creepy at first glance, this doll is pretty cool.  She bends at every joint (even the wrists!), making Barbie seem like a useless statue.   I'm sorry, but little girl cakes are so much more fun to make than boy cakes!  Angie Harmon's daughter loved it!
Yet another wine bottle cake.  Maybe my 50th at this point!
