Fairy Festival

Last weekend we decided to take Isabelle to the "Fairy Festival" at Latta Plantation.  Since fairies are kind of a girl thing, we decided to leave Collier with grandparents and bring along Izzy's best buddy, Emmie Rayburn.  I love that even my husband was excited about this girly excursion...but he did later confess that he'll look forward to staying at home to watch soccer with Collier the next time us gals decide to obsess over fairies.

We started off with a nature walk through the woods to see some of the fairy houses being created by young fairy lovers.  Emmie led the way!
Izzy wore her favorite fairy costume.  She decided to leave her wings in the car, but held on tightly to her wand.  Emmie came with her Cinderella dress on since princesses and fairies are pretty much all the same, right?  They were the cutest fairies of the bunch!
Precious girls.
Fairy houses are all new to me, but we learned all about them.
Front row at storytime.

Making fairy head bands.

The girls observing the face-painting fairies while waiting their turn.

A flower on Izzy's cheek.
A butterfly on Emmie's.

I think she likes!

PB&Js for lunch.
"Quite honestly, I prefer concord grape jelly over strawberry jam."
The rest of the day was spent running around, chasing each other, and hugging trees.

These are some happy girls.

It's good to be a little girl!
